Philosopher Eva von Redecker lets practice speak to make her point. Capitalism is destroying the foundations of life. We need a revolution to save it, argues German philosopher Eva von Redecker. We need a new way of living in which we care instead of control and share instead of deplete. In which we refocus on the common good and ecological solidarity is central. Hear a powerful plea for a new way of living together with Eva von Redecker.
Self-evident power structures
In her book Revolution for Life, philosopher Eva von Redecker examines the power structures we often take for granted. They define our relationships, our understanding of poverty and how we view nature. But capitalism destroys our existence through the relentless pursuit of profit with no regard for people or the environment. Thus, the spiral of consumption getting out of control takes on ever more destructive forms.
Saving lives
How do we get out of this situation? Von Redecker draws inspiration from protest movements like Black Lives Matter, Extinction Rebellion, and Ni una menos because they share a common goal: saving lives. She explains what we can learn from them and lays the foundation for a new way of living together.
After her lecture, Eva von Redecker will discuss questions such as: How can we learn from protest movements and save democracy? How can we spark a revolution in our own daily lives? Come and listen and ask your questions too.

‘With wrists swollen from cold, meat is cut from pig halves. Every now and then the knives slip from clammy, slippery fingers; the workers cut themselves. But those who go to the doctor too often get fired.’
